Jo Malone Mimosa & Cardamom

What can I say, I am a huge lover of Jo Malone and their latest fragrance drop certainly caught my attention. Inspired by the bohemian scents of the eastern spice markets the new Jo Malone Mimosa & Cardamom mixes sweet mimosa with with freshly crushed spicy cardamom and notes such as tonka bean, sandalwood, heliotrope and Damask rose. It is something completely different from any other fragrance I have smelt before, and you do find that a lot with Jo Malone; her fragrances are just so unique. It's incredibly natural smelling and I can imagine it is just like a spice market in the middle east somewhere. While being spicy it has a sweetness to it from the Mimosa I imagine, making it a lot more wearable. It is very warm and creamy with the tonka bean, and on me is very spicy when applied and then tones down into a more sweet and floral scent. Personally while I can appreciate the scent, it just isn't one for me, I am not a big 'sweet' fragrance fan (what can I say, sweet enough?). Woody, floral, and musky scents will always be more of my thing but fragrance is such a personal thing I think you can only really share what it's all about, my opinion is pretty irrelevant. If you like a sweet fragrance but also want something more Autumnal then this is one to definitely consider. Jo Malone are just good at what they do, they don't mess around, they don't get gimmicky or brash with packaging, a true classic, and I really respect and love them for that.

Have you smelt Mimosa & Cardamom yet? Love...

The All New Makeup Forever Ultra HD

I had never tried the original formula of the Makeup Forever HD Foundation, to be honest it never really interested me. I don't know why, maybe because it wasn't new and exciting or had hundreds of crazy claims, but I just didn't. But that story changed when it was reformulated and put back on the shelves. So I have been giving both the liquid and stick versions a go for the past couple weeks and thought I would let you know my thoughts, that was a lot of thoughts. Let's start with the liquid, as I said, I hadn't tried the old formula so couldn't tell you how it compares but I will tell you that this formula is damn AHHHMAZING! It comes in a whooping 40 shades there is definitely one for every skin tone and shade, I am wearing Y225 Marble currently. I am not going to go into to much detail about the HD quality as you can read about that on MUFE's website but basically it was designed for on camera to look completely natural and seamless making it the perfect foundation that's flawless in person and on screen. It's a traditional foundation consistency and my preferred way to apply it is with some sort of buffing brush. It glides on the skin easily and is virtually undetectable, it's quite build-able meaning the amount you use can take you from a sheer to medium full coverage. The finish it less dewy then I would usually go for, more of a natural to satin but it sits on my normal/dry skin really nicely. This really is a foundation I can see working for almost every skin type depending what primer you use and how you set it. As I said you can build up the coverage quite a lot and it still doesn't look cake-y or heavy on the skin, making it perfect for those who want to cover a little more. It wears well, and can do a good 8 hours without patching or melting with a good primer underneath (Laura Mercier Hydrating Primer is a winner for you dry skinned gals). The Ultra HD Stick Foundation is very similar in finish and affect but this time only coming in 15 shades. It is perfect for when my skin is extra dry as it's creamy formula glides over dry patches with ease. When I first swatched this I thought it would be hard to blend due to it feeling stiff but in fact it's very creamy and blends perfectly with a beautyblender. I would say you can get a bit more coverage out of the stick formulation and it is more suited to you if you have dry to combo skin and anything in between. The finish is very similar, maybe slightly dewy-er but still very natural looking. Applied to well moisturized skin with a good blending sponge this foundation is practically undetectable. It's the perfect foundation for touch up's on the go, to leave at the office for when you have that last minuet 'do' or to travel with, no spillages guaranteed. My overall thought on the new Ultra HD Foundations is that they are pretty perfect and will not need reformulating again anytime soon. I can now say I am definitely on the MUFE HD bandwagon.

Have you tried the new Ultra HD formulations? Love...

Sigma Structural Lashes Mascaras

Mascara has to be the makeup item that changes it all. Everything just looks so odd when your lases have nothing on them, and a lick of mascara always makes me personally look 100% better. Whether you are all about natural lashes or you need a mascara that's going to hold a serious curl the Sigma Structural Lashes Mascaras have you covered. The set of three can be purchased together, perfect for you mascara junkies or separately meaning you can have just the perfect tube. The Monumental Lash Mascara adds dramatic volume and lift. The brush on this one is a big fat fiber brush, I really like fiber brushes and I think recently plastic brushes have really taken over. The slightly softer brush adds a shed load of volume while also adding the necessary length. This is the most dramatic of the three so if you love big lashes then this one is for you. I believe the actual formula is the same in all the mascaras, don't quote me on that but it seems identical. Anyway it's a pretty damn good formula, it is on the drier side but I personally prefer that. It is also totally smudge proof, water resistant, and doesn't flake. The High Caliber Lash Mascara is all about the length, the wand is a firm, thin hourglass shape that really lifts the lashes and adds length like no mascara I have used before. This I would say is the most natural of the three but is creates really pretty wispy lashes, paired with the Monumental Lash it makes lashes look surreal! Lastly The Sinuosity Lash Mascara is the one for you if your lashes drop a curl like a hot potato (not that hot potato's drop curls... I meant as in how you would drop a hot potato, does this work? You know jokes are bad when you have to explain them right?). The wand is the only plastic one out of the three and it's curved to get right into the lashes and put in that curl. It gives a good amount of volume and length while adding that all important curl. If you want a all rounder mascara then this is the one. Whether your looking for a new mascara or you want to add to your stash, these three are perfect by themselves and paired together for impeccable lashes. Love...

Foreo Luna Mini

I have said it before and I will say it again investing in your skin is the best thing you can do when it comes to investing in beauty. Luxurious makeup is all well and good but you can achieve beautiful skin from just taking care of it and I think there is nothing better. I love cleansing devices and was a big fan of the Clarisonic for many years, but since January or so I haven't really been using it due to a few of it's flaws. First of all the financial up keep of it was getting on my nerves, and it was the straw that broke the camels back when they put the brush head prices up yet again. I love that you can pick different brush heads but forking out $30+ every three months is a pain in the bum! Another thing that always creeps me out a bit is how much bacteria those brush heads hold, don't get me wrong I never broke out from it or anything but the thought of it just gives me the heebie jeebies. One last thing that was slightly irritating was the mess it always made, now this is a little petty but I swear every time I used it over the sink I just got water and cleanser everywhere! This meant I reserved it for just in the shower and then eventually I just stopped using it all together. I didn't really notice a difference in my skin for a few weeks after but slowly it started to feel bumpy and uneven in texture. I decided it was time to look in to other cleansing device options as I felt my skin really benefited from the added cleansing benefits. I did some research and the FOREO LUNA and LUNA MINI seemed to be a device that I couldn't find a bad review on. The FOREO Luna Mini is a palm-sized device that delivers deep yet gentle cleansing with innovative T-Sonic technology. The silicone is not only extra-gentle but it is also extremely hygienic which means no pesky replacement brush heads. The silicone is completely nonporous and resists bacteria build up making it 35x more hygienic than any other facial cleansing device. The LUNA MINI comes with three different zones suited to every different skin type, thinner touch points are perfect for dry skin, while the broader touch points on the back of the device are suited for more oily skin or oilier zones like around the nose and chin. The LUNA or Luna mini is a skincare investment but one that you make once and it serves your for a long long time, 10 years in fact, as that's how long your guarantee is. In terms of use and results it compares to the Clarisonic favorably. It is 100x easier to use, they both run for the same amount of time (1 minuet) but the Luna Mini just glides over the face much easier and doesn't splatter cleanser everywhere. I would say the Clarisonic provides more exfoliation so I now find my self using more exfoliating masks or treatments, but I really don't mind that. In terms of cleansing the LUNA does a really great job at keeping the skin clear and fully cleansed, getting all the gunk out of your pores without tugging at your face. I have noticed my skin has been glowing more since using it and it now seems to absorb my serums ect. a lot better. Another great point to the Luna Mini is its size. It really is the size of your  hand and it holds charge for up to 300 uses making it the perfect device for traveling. If you're looking to invest in your skin do it now with the Luna Mini, your skin will thank you in the the long run. Make sure you use the code PEONIE for 10% off The LUNA MINI at Foreo.com. Love...

An It Cosmetics Complexion

Surely you must be bored of me banging on about It Cosmetics by now, but I don't care because it's a hell of a brand and I just have the need to keep telling you about it! In all seriousness if you haven't tried anything from them you need to get yourself down to Ulta now, like now don't even finish reading this! Well please do because I have some stellar recommendations for you. Their complexion products are some of my favorites so I thought I would give you a run down. Of course you have the wonderful CC+ Cream that I have mentioned several times and have a full review on HERE. It gives a natural finish and glow with a decent whack of coverage for a CC Cream, it's pretty much perfect skin in a bottle and with the huge amount of SPF 50 you know it's protecting you're skin too. To apply the CC Cream I love either my fingers of the Heavenly Luxe Complexion Perfection Brush, the foundation buffing side blends in product beautifully and leaves a perfect airbrush finish. If you have some redness like me then the Bye Bye Redness is a perfect addition to your makeup wardrobe. A universal shade transforms to match you while completely correcting any redness, the creamy texture applies smoothly and never creases or cracks. For under eye circles I haven't found anything as good as the Bye Bye Under Eye to cover them. It's creamy, hydrating and has some great pigment to it. It seems to glide under the eyes really well and never creases, which is a total bonus! I love to apply this with my ring finger and then blend out the edges with the other end of the Complexion Perfection Brush, which is a just a magical, magical brush and I can't wait to try more IT Brushes. To finish off your perfect base you need the Bye Bye Pores HD Micro Powder. This extremely fine milled loose powder never looks cakey or 'powdery' and blurs pores and fine lines like magic all while not being too matte but not letting your shine through either.

What are you're IT favorites? Love...

Stila Soul Palette

This palette is by no means new but I have been loving it recently and when I posted a photo on Instagram (@nicola_darita) I got a lot of questions about it so I thought I would share my thoughts and some swatches with you today. It had been something I had on my 'to buy' list for a while and for some reason I had never got round to buying until a few months ago. A mixture of mattes and shimmers the Stila Eyes Are the Window Soul Palette contains everything you need for a perfect eye look. For me it's more of an evening palette as the colors tend to be a little more smokey and dark. It feels very like the Urban Decay Naked 2 in my opinion but maybe with a bit of a more warm twist, you have an even share of warm and cool tones. The shadows are all buttery and smooth and have a nice amount of pigment to them. The shadows blend out well on the eyes and the over all quality of the palette is very good. You get 12 shadows like an Urban Decay Naked palette but for $5 less and the pans in this Stila palette are larger, (0.51g vs 0.05g) so you do get more products for you're money. A few of my favorite shades are, Light, a pale matte cream. Affection, a warm toned shimmery bronze. Vitality, a cool shimmery brown. Character, a dark brown with an almost pink shimmer running through it. Lastly of course Kitten, Stila's most famous shade which makes a perfect inner corner highlight. So basically it's a great a palette and it you're looking for something different to the Naked palettes and maybe want something a little more value for money then the Eyes Are the Windows palettes could be a great option, the Soul palette is a beauty and I can't wait to get my hands on the other three. Love...

REN Wake Wonderful Night-Time Facial

A multi-tasking leave on treatment is right up my lazy street. While I have gotten really into my skincare there are nights where I want to wash my face and go to sleep/binge on Netflix. The REN Wake Wondeful Night-Time Facial is a transforming overnight treatment that leaves skin exfoliated, brighter, revitalized, and deeply hydrated. Lactic and Glycolic acid start by exfoliating the skin, evening the texture and revealing that bright complexion while Sodium Lactate attracts water to the skin to plump and hydrate it. It's so simple to use, you just use 2-3 pumps either on its own, over your serum, and/or under you moisturizer. You feel a slight tingle on application and REN don't recommend it for sensitive skin but mine is pretty delicate and it copes with it just fine. Come morning my skin looks bright and plumped. I especially love it because it does hydrate, I find a lot of peels and exfoliates really dry out my skin but this somehow manages to resurface while hydrating. REN recommend using this 2-3 times a week but I like mixing it up with other masks and scrubs, although I can imagine if you want a 'one stop shop' then this will serve you well. If you're looking for a quick and convenient way to get glowing skin then this could be it. Love...

NYFW SS'16 Beauty Trends

Being the Beauty Junkie that I am seeing all the makeup at fashion week is my favorite part. My favorite look of the week has to be the one pictured above for the Mansur Gavriel presentation by the incredible NARS Director of Global Artistry, James Boehmer. It's so simple but really feminine and pretty, the look referenced the 60's without looking to dated or literal. The strong brows are the perfect addition to the long lashes and rosy lip. The rosy lip in question is NARS El Agua Velvet Lip Liner and the Audacious Lipstick in Dominique, a lilac. To create the dewy skin the NARS Luminous Moisture Cream was used and then a new release for Spring next year, the Velvet Matte Skin Tint (Very excited for that launch) which I can imagine it kept the skin from looking to 'wet' while adding a sheer coverage. Oh and it's safe to say the lip combo is on my 'to buy' list.

After going through a lot of the looks from the weeks festivities I noticed that actually a lot of makeup wasn't being used. A lot of artists and designers chose to have bare skin with just a glowing cream like MAC Strobe Cream or NARS Luminous Moisture Cream. They also kept it really plain with clear or no mascara and bare lips. It really was a very naked look but some how the models skin still manages to look great. I am not sure if it would be something that looked good on me but on 'no makeup' days it's definitely going to be something I give a try.

Dewy skin is the best kind of skin in my opinion, and year after year it seems to continue being on trend. This year a lot of artists opted for a dewy primer or cream and then using something with a most satin finish on top, for instance a matte tinted moisturizer or concealer. A great satin finish pick would be the MAC Waterweight SPF 30 Foundation. This is a fresh way to wear dewy skin especially in summer and for you more combo skinned gals; keeping shine free but glowy at the same time.

Color isn't always used very much in the makeup of fashion week, mainly due to having the attention on the clothes, and rightly so. But I did see some fun colored lips like the cool toned pink used for the Michael Costello show, which by the way was NARS Roman Holiday Lipstick. Another beautiful lip color was the muted red on the lips of the Badgley Mischka models which will be a new release from MAC come spring.

Glitter and Blue seemed to be very 'in' on the eye front. The Creatures of The Wind show featured tons of gold glitter and thick black cat flicks. While the Delpozo show featured a whimsical silver glitter eye which was created with makeup glitter and MAC Mixing Medium Eyeliner to adhere. Blue eyes appeared in a number of shows and I think it's a really fun way to incorporate color even on a day to day basis. Marc Jacobs used NARS Solomon Islands Eye Paint which is a rich blue, on the lids and then kept the rest of the makeup very bare and almost tired looking. For the 3.1 Philip Lim show NARS used the same blue eye paint but this time to line the upper lash line and inner water line.

We're almost half way through fashion month, can you see your self recreating any of the trends you have seen so far, beauty and fashion wise? Love...

NUDE Advanced Renewal Serum

I promised a full review of this amazing serum when I featured it in This Months Favorites, so here it is today. As I mentioned in my favorites, why I love this is really hard for me to pin down. It just does something amazing to my skin but I can't work out what. The NUDE Advanced Renewal Serum is quick-absorbing, firming, and hydrating while preventing visible signs of ageing. With Omega 9 and a polypeptide repair complex this serum supports the skins ability to protect and renew. It is a cloudy looking medium consistency formula that to begin with looks like it could be sticky or heavy but once applied it sinks into the skin with ease and feels as light as a feather. I had terrible dry skin a few weeks back and I am convinced this is what cured it. It seems to inject a does of hydration while adding glow and keeping the surface of the skin smooth and even. I have been using it morning and night, just two drops pressed into cleansed skin and I can say I don't think I will ever be without it. While I wince a little at the price tag my skin has been the best it ever has. It seems to do magical things to my skin and now I am a eager beaver to try the rest of the NUDE line. Any recommendations? Love...

Hakuhodo + Sephora Pro Brush Collection

Hakuhodo the master Japanese brush makers world renowned for making the most perfect makeup brushes has teamed up with Sephora Pro to create a collection of limited addition brushes comprised of never seen before patented bristles and sculpted into new unusual shapes. Each brush has been lovingly crafted by hand using traditional Japanese tools to ensure every makeup love can enjoy professional levels of precision and versatility. All the brushes in the line are made of super soft synthetic bristles, come in a beautiful keep sake box and have the most special red handles and matte black ferrules. They also all have Japanese names that goes back to Hakuhodo's heritage. I am usually not one to go for synthetic bristles unless it's intended for a cream or liquid product but these brushes are so incredibly soft and pick up powders beautifully that I have changed my mind on that. Kusabi the luxury angled powder brush is a new innovation in powder brushes for me. I have always thought sweeping your powder over you foundation must surely disturb it so I have always been a 'tapper' or 'dabber' when it comes to powder. This is what this brush is specifically made for, simply tap in you're powder and then tap onto your face. Whether that's just your T-zone or you're whole face, the angle makes it really easy to get in hard to reach areas such as around your nose and under the eyes. Otsubu is a really unique shaped powder brush and in fact my favorite from the collection. It's large teardrop shade makes is perfect for blending and that's the reason I love it for bronzer. Using this brush is a sheer joy and it just applies bronzer perfectly. I tend to apply the product to the side of the brush and then blend out with the tip, it seriously is a dream brush. Kotsubu is a beautiful highlighter brush, basically a smaller version or Otsubu it applies product under the eyes and on the cheekbones perfectly. I like setting under my eyes with it best or blending out liquid or cream highlights. It also picks up powder highlights really well. Ougi is the brush that can be used for just about anything, contour, bronzer, blush, powder, basically anything and everything. It is a small basic blush shaped brush and I love it for cream or liquid blushes. It blends them out beautifully and never leaves things looking heavy or cake-y. The last brush in the collection is Kusuriyubi a multi-use small angled brush that can be used for powder and liquid formulations. Perfect for concealer, cream and powder shadow, as well as detailed highlighting. I personally love using it with powder shadows for the quick all over the lid 'sweeping' method. It applies just the right amount of color and blends out everything at the same time, perfect for that rushed morning eye look. All the brushes are available Online at Sephora.com and In Store now so go and check them out. Love...

My Fall Makeup Must Haves

I love Fall! It's such a pretty time of year, especially here in the DC area and fall makeup trends are my favorite. Berry lips, dewy skin, smokey eyes, the options are just endless. As the season is swiftly coming into full swing I thought I would share with you my seasonal faves. Glowing skin is my go to in Fall, I know it's usually a spring or summer thing but I think nothing looks better with a berry lip than seriously glowy skin. To achieve this I love using MAC Strobe Cream as a base all over, then using the wonderful Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder Foundation to even out my skin tone. I love this stuff and it could quite possibly be my favorite foundation ever. For some more glow on the cheek bones I have been using Becca Moonstone. Th shade Opal is a little to bronze for me this time of year and Moonstone is the perfect light champagne. To finish the perfect dewy skin look I give my skin a quick spritz with the Tatcha Dewy Skin Mist. My must have blush for Fall seems to be the same every year and yet again I have found my self reaching for NARS Deep Throat. A darker peach pink it seems to pair with a darker lip really well as well as a rusty eye. Talking of eye looks I like to either keep it simple or slightly colorful for fall. For an all over the lid simple shade I love MAC Patina, it's an almost green toned brown with gold shimmer running through it and it's perfect to make a quite statement. Supermodel from the Colourpop Fall collection is a really pretty light champagne gold that pairs perfectly by it's self with a dark lip. If you want a little more color but nothing to intense then MAC Sable is a really good pick. It is a rusty warm brown with almost a hint of red in it. For a more intense rusty eye Cranberry by MAC is a beautiful shade. A full on red rust color it's perfect for fall. If purple is more you thing then MAC Star Violet is really pretty. It's mainly a mix of pink and purple but it looks beautiful all over the lid. If you're after something darker and matte then Colourpop Central Perk is a beautiful dark burgundy for the outer V and crease. Lips are my favorite thing to change up during fall and berry's, dark red's, and purple's are my favorites. I have been loving Burberry Rose Blush, its a berry with more red than purple undertones. I also love MAC Syrup which is very similar but more purple than red based. For more neautral lips I have fallen in love with MAC Velvet Teddy (thank you Sophie from Petals of Perfection for the recommendation) it pulls quite brown on me but paired with a red rusty eye it looks great. For a more affordable and sheerer alternative Colourpop Kiddo is a really great one especially if you're pale. Make sure you let me know your favorite Fall products in the comments. Love...

It Cosmetics, Naturally Pretty The Romantics

I am going to say it again and again, I love It Cosmetics! Their new Naturally Pretty Vol.2 The New Romantics eyeshadow palette is not exception to their amazing-ness. A pretty pastel and warm palette with 14 matte shades and a transforming pearl shade that changes any of them into pearled goodness. The shadows are anti-aging which means that they diffuse the look of lines and wrinkles making them perfect for the more mature wearer. The shades are really unique and a little colorful while still being wearable. It's also really nice to have an all matte palette, sometimes I don't always feel like something shimmery and a lot of palettes really lack enough matte shades. It's also a great all round palette as you do have the transforming pearl to make any shade the finish you want. The pigmentation is beautiful and the shades are all very buttery and blend out well. I can honestly say these are some of the softest matte shadows I have ever used. One thing I am not the biggest fan of, even though its adorable, is the packaging, don't get me wrong it's not bad. I just am not really a fan of the soft velvet outside, I feel like it's just going to get dirty very quickly, a bit like the original Urban Decay Naked palette. I would prefer a hard sleek plastic cover but hey you win some you loose some. One bonus of the packaging is that it is very light, so perfect for traveling. Some of my favorite shades in the palette are Romance, a dusty warm pink. Desire, a burnt peach. Enchanting, a lavender purple. Also, Embrace, a warm mid brown. Oh and transforming pearl is beautiful by its self on the inner corner and brow bone. I am fully in love with this palette and will be ordering the original Naturally Pretty palette ASAP! If you're looking for some amazing matte shadows then this palette is the place to go. Love...

Marc Jacobs Re(marc)able Foundation

I love Marc Jacobs as a beauty brand, their lip products are to die for, shadows as buttery as, well butter and brushes that are some of the softest I have ever touched. Saying that I was never really a fan of their only foundation, the Genius Gel Super-Charged. I wrote a review on it once but I think that post has since been deleted in a tidy up. Anyway I didn't' really like it, the fragrance in it was awful, and I found it just a little heavy for my skin. But the new Re(marc)able Full Cover Foundation Concentration is so different in a rather marvelous way. I am not usually a full coverage fan as it normally means heavy and matte which my dry skin just hates. But this is so different, it feels light on the skin and while it may not be the dewy-est finish it isn't completely matte, more of a natural satin finish. The ultra-light oil free foundation boasts that it will last on the skin for up to 24 hours, now obviously I haven't tested it for that long, but it most certainly is long wearing. It contains twice as much pigment than most full coverage foundation which means you only need a very small amount to cover you whole face, which in turn means it feels like you're wearing nothing. Marc Jacobs say it has a soft matte finish which I thinks makes it perfect for all skin types, as long has you haven't got too bad dry patches. I have heard a lot of people moaning about the applicator on this one, personally it doesn't really bother me. I think the little dot applicator is the best way to apply the foundation due to the small amount you need. For instance a pump would never work down to its liquid consistency and the very tiny amount you do need. In terms of application fingers, buffing brushes, and a beautyblender works well. Fingers or a brush give you the most overage but for a really natural finish the beautyblender is perfect. For my normal to dry skin this is the most perfect full coverage foundation I have found. If you're like me and are usually a little scared of 'full coverage' then this Marc Jacobs foundation is might just be for you. Oh and did I mention in comes in a plethora of shades and tones so there bound to be one for you, I wear Bisque Medium right now. My love for Marc Jacobs Beauty continues, what should I try next? Love...

The Mio Gym Kit: Keeping Fresh & Relaxed

No one likes feeling icky and achy after the gym or a long day at work but taking a nice long cleansing bath can't always be an option. Perhaps your heading out to after work drinks or you have to run from the gym to work first thing; that's where the Mio Gym Kit comes in. A handy little clear case filled with 10 Clean Slate Workout Wipes which can be used for a quick freshen up of your face and body. Being the skincare snob I am I haven't tried them on my face but the are great for a body freshen up when there is no time for a shower. They also smell like cucumber and mint which is wonderful, because hey no one wants to smell bad... The set also includes a Workout Wonder Gel or as I like to call it fancy IcyHot. Great for aching muscles from running or that shoulder ache from sitting at your desk all day, it also smells 100% better than most soothing gels (a little like tooth paste) and it calms muscles with out getting too cold or hot which can feel a little unpleasant. It also helps accelerate circulation which is great if you're someone who sits at a computer all day. So basically what I am saying is if you are a person on the go then you need this little kit in your bag, literally a life saver. I have become a big fan of Mio over the past few months so keep an eye out for more posts featuring the brand. Love...

Me! Bath, Advanced Body Care

Fall is the time to relax, kick back, take a bath, and look after you're self. Me! Baths Advanced Body Care line feels very luxurious and is a real treat when it comes to winding down. The line is full of incredible fragrances and therapeutic formulations making them feel spa like. The white tea and ginger scent with rose water is beautiful, it smells a little spicy but sweet too and it's perfect for fall. In the scent I have the Effervescent Bath Soak which is a giant fizzer with skin nourishing properties such as jojoba oil and Epsom salts, again it smells incredible. I also had the mini versions of it but I used them all up on vacation. The Ultra Rich Body Creme is a really rich body butter that sinks into the skin beautifully and really hydrates it. It is created with the idea of smoothing wrinkles and reducing sun damage in mind. The smell is fresh and not to overpowering so it's great if you still want to wear fragrance with it. The Rejuvenating Body Lotion is a lighter version of the Body Creme so it's great if you don't like to faff with thicker moisturizers. Lastly I have been using the Tri-Functional Sugar Scrub but in the toasted coconut and lime scent. If you like that holiday smell, you know the one of the beach and cocktails then this scent it for you. I featured this scrub in my Summer Glow post and I have fallen head over heels for it. It is scrubby but not to harsh and leaves the skin feeling really moisturized without leaving and residue. It also has cleansing properties to it to make sure you're squeaky clean, in a moisturized way of course. Love...

Fall Nail Polish Essentials

Fall will soon be upon us and that means getting together your warm brown eye shades, berry lipsticks, and vampy nail colors. With that being said today I am going to be sharing my favortie nail polishes for fall; in fact this is quite the tradition here on Perfect Peonies as I have done one every season since we began. While makeup might be my weak spot I really am a huge nail polish junkie. I have a collection of hundreds so these six are really favorites of mine, especially for the season. I love greys taupe's, bronzes, plums and burgundy's during the fall. They are some of my favorite tones to wear, so as soon as August ends I started cracking them out. I love the formula of Essie's polishes and I have two favorite shades for fall 'Lady Like' and 'Chinchilly'. 'Ladylike' is a a plum, pink, grey, nude mix. It's quite a hard one to describe but I like to cal it my fall time nude, simple, classic, but a little different all at the same time. 'Chinchilly' is a grey taupe with tiny hints of purple. Darker than 'Lady Like' but in a similar tone. From O.P.I I also have two shades that are perfect for this time of year, 'Malaga Wine' and 'My Vampire Is Buff'. 'Malaga Wine' is a red, burgundy, wine color, in fact it's the only red that really suits my skin tone so if you're pale like me then this is a great pick. 'My Vampire Is Buff' is the perfect light color for fall. After all of these dark shades you might want something a little lighter. This is my version of a white for fall. A light creamy beige, which I believe complements shorter nails really well. My last two polishes are from the Deborah Lippmann's Fall Collection which you can read all about HERE. 'Miss Independent' is a rich plum purple creme which is a real classic shade and 'Can't Be Tamed' is an extraordinary glitter. With honey, bronze and warm brown tones its a perfect mix for fall and the intensity is incredible. One every glitter lover needs! So now your nails are ready head out and grab a pumpkin spiced latte and get fall of to a great start! Love...
