Autumnal Lips & Tips

Autumn is here and it is my favourite season of them all. From cozy jumpers, to candles and the run up to Christmas; Fall just has it all. I love having a makeup and nail switch up this time of year and transitioning my lipsticks from pretty pink to sultry berry's and nails from summer coral's to muted nudes is always an exciting time. As we jump into the new season I thought I would compile a list of my favourite 'lips and tip' picks for the season, so you can feel everything pumpkin spiced latte from your nails to your pout.

A Breath of Fresh Air for Your Skin

I have fallen in love with the Omorovicza Oxygen Booster over the past few months and I have been on tenter hooks to share it all with you. The Oxygen Booster is said to be liquid oxygen for your skin, hence the breath of fresh air. With just a few drops added to your moisturiser or serum you can have fresh feeling, hydrated, and plumped skin again in an instant. The magical potion contains their famous Hungarian thermal water for added moisture and skincare benefits. The booster has a serum like gel consistency that melts into the skin effortlessly. I personally love adding it to my serum morning or night, just when ever I feel like my skin is a little dehydrated and dull. Instantly you can see the skin being plumped and wrinkles smoothed out, which means it's beautiful under makeup. If you have mature skin then I can't imagine anything more perfect for it, yes at £85 it is a bit of an investment but it's practically botox in a bottle without the pain or harsh affect of the big guns. The whole range of Omorovicza skincare is now available at beautyexpert.com and I am proud to announce that I will be working with them as an ambassador in the coming months so look out for some exciting new content. Love...

The Most Beautiful Place on Earth: The Maldives

Long time no see! I've missed you all, but today I am back after an amazing break in the most beautiful place on earth. If you follow me on social media you may know that I have just got back from the ever so beautiful Maldives. I have taken so many wonderful snaps couldn't bear not sharing them with you all, so I thought on the blog today I'd talk you through my trip and well just share the dreamy images. Prior warning, this is packed full of images so I don't even mid if you don't read my babble, just sit back, relax and pretend you're there with me.

The Maldives has over a 1000 islands in total with some being totally desolate, residential, or resorts like where we stayed. With them being scattered through the Indian Ocean you fly into the main airport in the capital Male and then either travel by boat or seaplane from there. Our resort was a 40 minuet seaplane ride away and the flight in itself was an amazing experience if not a little scary. Taking off and landing on water is certainly interesting but the views you get once you are up are totally worth it. From there you can see the various atolls and the stunning turquoise hues that scatter the oceans surface.

We stayed at the wonderful Centara Resort and Spa Maldives which is set on it's own private island and our stay was just magical. From the moment we stepped back onto land we were greeted by the friendliest staff. I've stayed at a few resorts where staff can be so friendly that they get annoying or 'in your face' but this certainly wasn't the case here. The were attentive enough and very friendly without being 'pushy' and leaving you to relax on your holiday which I loved. We even got speaking to a few of the waiters at dinner and I loved hearing about where they all came from and their ideas with the Maldives being their birth home. We stayed in two beach bungalows and were very happy with our choice. The water villas are a real icon of the Maldives but as we love the beach we were over the moon with being right on it and pretty much no one else being around. September is coming to the end of the rainy season there but the weather can still be a little hit and miss, luckily we were very fortunate and only got one day of grey with the rest being uber warm and sunny. Our hotel had a stunning infinity pool but we did't use it once, simply because the ocean is so clear, warm, and  inviting. When I say pictures don't do this place justice I am not kidding, it is literally the most beautiful place I have ever been. The rooms were clean and spacious and set out over two floors with a bedroom and cloakroom upstairs and then living room and bathroom underneath with a lovely outdoor shower. It isn't exactly a 'do it all' kind of place so we spent our days in the ocean swimming, napping, or laying out in the sun and of course eating; for me it was pure paradise.

Basically the Maldives needs to go on your bucket list right now. I know no holiday will ever compare now and I hope I can discover more islands in the future as well as returning to Centara. Yes it's a bloomin' long way to go from London, but it was so worth it. My real trip of a lifetime. Love...

The Lip Products for Those Who Hate Lip Products

So many of my friends tell me they hate wearing lipstick because it's too high maintenance or that they just don't like the feeling of a gloss.  Personally I love all the lip products but I thought for all of you that struggle with the idea of it I would share my favourite non-offending, easy to wear lip products from glosses to chubby sticks.

NARS Dolce Vita Lipstick- This muted slightly sheer MLBB (my lips but better) shades is perfect if you hate anything to bold but don't like nudes either. The formula is light and like a balm on the lips without feeling to slippy so even better if you normally hate the feel of something on your lips.

Clinique Chubby Lip Pencil in Whoopin' Watermelon-If you prefer something more on the pink side of things and something that feels and looks fresher than this chubby stick is for you. Again it is on the sheerer side of things making it very wearable and pretty on the lips.

Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfectors- As a whole this line of gloss balm hybrids are perfect if you hate sticky tacky glosses but also like a little shine on the lips. They came in a tone of shades, some more natural than other but they are all on the sheer side and feel incredibly lovely and comfortable on the lips. The shade I have here is 07 a mauve pink that looks very pretty on the lips.

NYX Butter Glosses- These are very comparable to the Clarins option if you ask me and a the best bit is that it is a little more purse friendly. I would say they can be slightly more pigmented and the range of natural colours isn't quite as wide but texture wise they are very similar.

NARS Chelsea Girls Lipgloss- The lip gloss formula from NARS is one of my favourites on the market and Chelsea Girls is such an iconic shade by them. It is a natural nude that is light enough for paler skin tones and deep enough that most people can wear it. The formula is non sticky, buttery, but doesn't need to reapplied every hour.

YSL Rouge Volupte Shine in 44- This shade from the newest 'oil in stick' formula from YSL is stunning and quite possibly my most worn lipstick. The Oil in Stick formula is so creamy and smooth and feel like literally nothing on the lips. The shade 44 is a creamy nude pink that is very natural and pretty on paler skin tones like mine.

Burberry Kissing Lipstick in English Rose- English Rose is exactly what you think it is, a very flattering rose bitten natural lip colour. The formula of the kissing lipsticks is great with it not being to glossy nor matte, just the perfect satin finish that look uber natural.

Laura Mercier Lip Parfait in Cinn-Full- These Lip Parfaits have a very glossy finish without them being a liquid like a gloss which makes them a little easier to wear and apply. The shade Cinn-Full would be a perfect natural lip colour for medium to dark skin tones or really pretty on paler skin as a neutral brown.

So there you have my picks for you fussy lips lovers out there, I mean I get it. Lipsticks can be claggy, dry, and patchy, while glosses can be sticky, smelly, and tacky on the lips. I hope that with my picks you can become a fellow lippy lover like me. Love...
