Current Beauty Favourites

Monthly Favourites have seriously been lacking around these parts so I thought it was about time I let you in on my current beauty favourites. I have gone back to some old favourites and have a few new picks that I have fallen for.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette- It is the 'it' palette of the moment and I absolutely love it. I wasn't sure about the shade range to begin with, as it is a little more colourful than I usually go for. The shadows are so pigmented and buttery which makes them dream to blend. I love them so much that I think ABH shadows are my new favourite.

Chanel Vitamlumiere Aqua Foundation- This is an old favourite of mine and recently I have been using it most days. The thin texture gives just the perfect everyday coverage with a light weight feel. The finish isn't too glowy or matte, somewhere just right in the middle. Plus B10 is my perfect winter shade.

Eve Lom Daily Protection SPF 50- Sun protection is still really important in the winter time and recently I have been trying out the daily protection from Eve Lom. The texture is thin enough to easily massage into the skin but also isn't too chalky and powdery. It also sits well under makeup, which is honestly quite tricky to find.

Lune & Aster Moonrise Glow Contour Palette- This is a total dupe for the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow Palette, and if you are fair like me then it could even be a little better. The bronzer is on the sheerer side which is what makes it so great for the winter months and the highlight isn't too gold.

Becca Backlight Priming Filter- This has been a favourite of mine since it was released but as usual it got buried in my over zealous makeup drawer. During a deep clean I found it again and since reusing it I have fallen back in love. When my skin is on the drier side this adds the dose of glow and get up it needs. Sallow skin? Goodbye.

Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector- With winter your lips get a bit of a beating from the cold, because of this I have been leaving lipstick of the makeup menu and have been going with a good balm or gloss. The Natural Lip Perfectors are a true favourite of mine and the natural shade of #7 is absolutely perfect for everyday.

So what have you been loving lately? Love...

Every Makeup Brush You Could Ever Need

I am a brush junkie and also a lazy brush washer (although you can read my post on how I do wash them HERE if you would like) so collecting quite the stash has always been my mission. It can be a confusing game when it comes to picking your brushes, especially if you are a makeup newbie, but do not fear I am here to share my favourites from flat top buffing brushes to the tiniest of concealer brushes. The slider below holds the absolute favourites in my very large collection, so take a peep through and start your shopping list. If you have any favourites please do share them below for us all to see.

New Year, New Skin

So it's 2017 and I am trying to get back into the blogging swing, it's 11 pm and I am rather tired so let's see how this goes. I've come to the understanding that blogging shouldn't be forced but for some reason tonight, for the first time in months I feel a real kick to start writing. So here I am.

With a New Year comes a new start and if over Christmas you've been neglecting your skin, a little like myself then you can jump back on the waggon with me.

I don't know about you but I have had this awful winter cold that is going around and my skin is super dry. So the first step is hydration and I say when it comes to skin, the dewier the better. If like me dewy skin is your destination then you need to invite the Kypris Antioxidant Dew into your skincare routine. This super potent serum has become a favourite of mine recently and it has really boosted the glow in my skin, I have a whole rave review on it HERE. I have been loyal to my Murad moisturiser for years but recently I have fallen in love with the Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief Moisturiser. Its light texture and ultra hydrating formula is so comfortable on the skin that I haven't wanted to use anything else. Dark circles have been the enemy lately and there is nothing like the January blues to get those bags showing. The Darphin Ideal Resource Dark Circle Eye Illuminator is the perfect morning after late night pick me up. It has a slight peach tone to it which corrects the dark circles and the cool metal tip melts away any bags, ahh bliss. If my skin is feeling super yuck and lack lustre then it is time to bring the big guns out, in the form of Omorovicza's Oxygen Booster. I have again written all about this gem HERE if you want to know more, but in short it is super hydrating, firming, and adds that punch of glow. To get the glow we speak off, exfoliation is crucial, and personally I am not one for heavy scrubs or masks when it comes to sloughing away those dead skin cells. I am a huge fan of a chemical exfoliants in liquid form like Alapha-H's Liquid Gold. This hero product has been around for donkeys years but some how I have only just got round to trying it. The formula is maybe a little to harsh for very sensitive skins but I find used just once weekly it gives my skin that much needed brightening and makes it feel as soft as a feather. Lastly of course January is certainly the right time to get in some skin pampering, pop on you favourite mask and think of your resolutions ahead. A current favourite of mine is the Peter Thomas Roth Cucumber Gel Mask. This neon green slim looks pretty grim but it feels incredible on the skin. The gentle formula soothes and hydrates while calming any red winter complexion. After a particularly heavy night this popped in the fridge and then slathered on is amazing.

So, What's your New Year, New Skin resolution?
