What can I say, I am a huge lover of Jo Malone and their latest fragrance drop certainly caught my attention. Inspired by the bohemian scents of the eastern spice markets the new
Jo Malone Mimosa & Cardamom mixes sweet mimosa with with freshly crushed spicy cardamom and notes such as tonka bean, sandalwood, heliotrope and Damask rose. It is something completely different from any other fragrance I have smelt before, and you do find that a lot with Jo Malone; her fragrances are just so unique. It's incredibly natural smelling and I can imagine it is just like a spice market in the middle east somewhere. While being spicy it has a sweetness to it from the Mimosa I imagine, making it a lot more wearable. It is very warm and creamy with the tonka bean, and on me is very spicy when applied and then tones down into a more sweet and floral scent. Personally while I can appreciate the scent, it just isn't one for me, I am not a big 'sweet' fragrance fan (
what can I say, sweet enough?). Woody, floral, and musky scents will always be more of my thing but fragrance is such a personal thing I think you can only really share what it's all about, my opinion is pretty irrelevant. If you like a sweet fragrance but also want something more Autumnal then this is one to definitely consider. Jo Malone are just good at what they do, they don't mess around, they don't get gimmicky or brash with packaging, a true classic, and I really respect and love them for that.
