A High End Base For Everyone

When I originally planned this post it wasn't supposed to be 'high end' but hey it just turned out that way so why not. It's coming up to the Holidays so there is no better time to treat yourself. Instead of just running down my favorite foundations, BB/CC/EE/DD Creams (sigh face) and bases I thought I would share something for everyone, but of course these are still very much firm favorites.

Givenchy Teint Couture Blurring Foundation Balm- This base is the BB equivalent for oilier skin types. While it is a foundation it does has a sheer-medium coverage and very much a balmy texture like a BB cream. I find this is best applied with fingers and while it has some glow it does settle down to a velvety satin finish.

Dr Jart+ Premium Beauty Balm SPF 45- If you have dry or normal skin then this is the BB cream for you. It comes in only two shades but adapts to your skin shade so don't panic about the grey tone. It has a very fresh dewy finish that really does look like skin while having some pretty good coverage. I have to set this in my t-zone but other than that I find it wears really well.

Makeup Forever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Stick Foundation- If you are after a good cream foundation or something that is easily transported then this is the best out there in my opinion. The small sleek stick makes it perfect for travelling without any spillages and its superb for throwing in your handbag for touches up on the go. The formula is very creamy and has a natural finish so will work for all skin types depending on what primer you use ect. I love blending this out with a beauyblender or flat topped brush and it just looks so natural on the skin. The coverage is really customizable and you can really build it up without it looking cake-y.

Marc Jacobs Re(marc)able Full Cover Foundation Concentrate- This is the most full coverage foundation I own and while it's matte and perfect for oily skin, I also really love it for when my skin is hydrated. The lightweight foundation sits on the skin beautifully with a soft focus matte finish and it really does feel like you're wearing nothing. You need a very minimal amount of it and it still blends very easily. If full coverage is your thing but you're fed up of the heavy cake, then this is the foundation for you.

Tom Ford Flawless Powder Foundation- If a powder is more your thing then this is the powder to get. Ok so its price is eye watering but it is very lovely indeed. I have never felt such a soft, fine powder in my life and the coverage is a good medium build-able. By it's self or over a liquid for more coverage, it never looks heavy. But... more on this tomorrow.

Air Perfection CC Compact Cushion- Something a little different is this Korean inspired foundation 'cushion' from Pur Cosmetics. It has a SPF of 50 which is going to keep your skin perfectly protected and it is wonderful for touching up on the go with it's handy compact. The coverage is quite light and it has more of a natural finish making it good for all skin types.

Love...

  1. Oh wow, I have wanted to try each and every one of these except the Dr Jart....cause I own that! It is a strange grey tone, but looks great once on the skin x

    1. Yes it does look a little odd but on the skin it's so beautiful. If you love that I would really recommend the Givenchy Balm Foundation. It's slightly more satin in finish but still ver beautiful. Another that is great but not on this lis is the Charlotte Tilbury Light Womder foundation, supper glory and a good medium coverage. Thanks for reading x
