The Best Matte Liquid Lipsticks
Beauty
Liquid Lipsticks have become huge over the past few years and no more so recently than the long lasting variety so I thought today along with those I would share some liquid lipstick favorites with the perfect matte finish. They tend to have a bad reputation for drying out the lips, cracking, and just generally being a bit of a pain in the ass but I like to think I have found a pretty reliable bunch that I am going to share with you today. When I think of long wearing matte liquid lipsticks I instantly think of the Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks. I would say this formula has the best wear time out of any other formula I have tried but it also the most drying and can become a little patchy if not applied evenly and quickly enough. There is a great colour range with Lolita and Bow n Arrow being my current favorites. The applicator is a traditional doe foot which I like but the wand it's self is just far to long to be uber precise. My absolute favorite formula is sadly not one available in the UK but now on Sephora.com it is certainly worth an order. The Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipsticks have amazing pigmentation with a really light formula that isn't to drying making it the all round perfect option. They have an amazing array of colours and even more are available on the ABH website, they last for an amazing amount of time on the lips without cracking or crumbling. Pure Hollywood, Soft Lilac, and Sarafine are all to die for. My two drugstore picks have to be the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvets and the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams. Both have a creamy whipped formula that dries down matte but isn't the greatest at hanging around. Neither formula is transfer proof but they are matte and if you don't mind reapplying and the price tag appeals to you then they are not a bad pick. The Bourjois option doesn't have to many colours to chose from, and the darker shades can become patchy but if you are after a nude like Nude-ist or bright shade like Pink Pong then they are certainly worth a go. On the other hand the NYX options comes in a ton of shades that are all pretty beautiful, here I have Stockholm which is a lovely nude pink and Prague but Copenhagen has been on my list for some time; their only draw back is the lack of accessibility. Lastly you have the mid range options like the ever so wonderful Sephora Lip Creams, to me this has the perfect formula that is both long lasting but not uncomfortable on the lips again what lets it down is the lack of shades available. Lastly we have the Ciate Liquid Velvets which have a very similar texture to the NYX offering. The creamy whipped formula is the most hydrating of these on the lips but that does mean you have to settle on wear time. If my lips are dry but I still want to go for a matte look then this is what I always reach for. So what do you think of liquid lipsticks? Love them, hate them, either way they're conquering the cosmetics market right now. Love...
