Gallery walls have become a huge trend over the past year and I myself love them. I think pairing up all of your favorite artwork, photographs, and textiles in beautiful frames all on one wall is a great idea. I have teamed up with Minted, a online art marketplace, to share how I have created my very own gallery wall. Minted is a place where artists can learn, gain exposure, and build their businesses. All of the art here is from the wonderful artists that share and sell their art on Minted, and to be honest it was very hard to pick. There is such a variety to choose from in so many different media areas, so you can certainly find something to fit your tastes and what best reflects you. I decided I wanted my gallery wall to reflect me and what I love, so there are a few pieces that are a little different.
I wanted to center my wall around a painting, but still something simple so I chose Herons Nest by Annie Moran. I think this is my favorite piece, I love the white background with the strokes of blue in the birds feathers. Another great thing about Minted is that they offer Limited Edition prints like this one, which means only a limited number are printed, so you really get a unique item. I wanted a photograph of DC to commemorate my time here and this DC in Black & White by Megan Kelso is perfect. I also have a huge love for New York and Paris so got two small photographs that I came across too, New York, New York by S.L. Bird and Paris View by Bella Design Company. I wanted some other medias in there like a foiled print, and this one of a Fly caught my eye. Granted it's a little strange but I really like it. The So Fly by Rose Lindo isn't a real foil so doesn't have that beautiful shine but it is very cute nonetheless. I do have one real foil though, and it certainly reflects me well. This Washington DC Skyline by Phrosne Ras is in rose gold foil and shines like the stars. I love the way the outline depicts the monument, capitol building, and all my favorite parts of DC. I found myself being attracted to images of the sea a lot, I am not really sure why, maybe it's the blue but I just found a lot I loved. One of those is Portofino Afternoon by Three Kisses Studios. I love the general color palette of this photo and looking at it just makes me dream of an Italian getaway. I also went for another smaller Italian sea scape in the form of Aquamarine by Lindsay Ferraris. Something I wanted to do with my gallery wall was have images of all different sizes but in very similar and simple frames, I decided to go for plain white to tie everything together while keeping everything different. I wanted something small in black and white to match up with my DC photograph and this little Pine Cone by Alexis Arnold was perfect and simple. As I am from London I also wanted something to represent that and I love this photo of the top of St Pauls Cathedral by 45wall Design. Lastly I came across Thera Twilight by Ava Thomson and instantly knew it would be perfect to finish things off with the ties of blue and white. I am not 100% sure where it is of but I would hazard a guess at Greece somewhere. Each print framed comes packaged separately and well padded out meaning there is little room for breakage. With each print you also get a little blurb about the artist and if it's a limited edition print your get a authenticity certificate. I love the fact you get to know the artists a little and really know what goes into the making of the piece. I was so pleased with the service and everything looks and feels like it's great quality. The frames included are sturdy and sleek looking, but you can also buy any artwork frameless. Wether you want to create a gallery wall like me or just want a single piece of artwork I would certainly recommend Minted.
