The BodyBlender

I love the original beautyblender and think it is the best makeup sponge out there, truly worth every penny. When the bodyblender launched I was very interested in it but I have to say I am a little disappointed. Don't get me wrong it's not bad in fact it does have it's benefits, but it didn't quite match up to my expectations of the original magic sponge. Firstly it doesn't have the same shape as the original sponge, more of a flat less bouncy texture. Like the original sponge it does expand a lot making it a perfect size for body makeup application or fake tan. I tried it out with a few different products but never got quite brave enough to faux tan because I feel like it wouldn't work well with mousses; lotions or sprays though would be perfect. For body makeup application it did work really well. I used both MAC Face & Body Foundation and Sally Hansen's Air Brush Legs and it applied both beautiful with no mess that you would usually have by applying by hand. I did try using my gradual tan lotion with it but didn't find it the most efficient way as using my hands is faster. For me it's primary uses will be for body makeup, which I think makes it perfect for a makeup artist or some one who works in beauty industry. My final thoughts on it are it's certainly not necessary but if the mess of body makeup annoys you or you're missing something like it in your professional kit then this could totally be for you. Even if you skip on this beautyblender offering make sure you pick up the original sponge, it's incredible! Love...
